How to install Listchecker
20 Sep 2007 Quan Quach 773 comments 154435 views
Latest BNET Patch 1.22 Requires New Listchecker File (June 30th, 2008)!
With the new BNET Patch, you will no longer be able to host with LC unless you download the new listchecker file. You can Download the latest listchecker file here. Replace this file with your old pickup.listchecker.exe file.
Introduction
Listchecker (a.k.a. pickup.listchecker) is a third party application that will allow you to host games on Battle.net with a significant improvement in latency. Since I haven’t seen any good tutorials on how to install / setup / use Listchecker, I decided to write one to make things easier on anyone who wants to use the program. When I host with Listchecker, pings to other players usually range from 10ms to around 30ms. For the most part, the people who join my games are pleased with their pings and always compliment me on the smooth hosting and lack of delay. This tutorial will show you how to install Listchecker for either Windows XP or Vista, and how to use the basic commands. Note: You must be able to host games on battle.net normally, or else Listchecker will not work!
If you're looking for an alternative to Listchecker or can't get Listchecker to work, try DotA Client!
If you are having any problems installing LC, PLEASE do a search within the comments section as the same questions have been answered multiple times!
Part 1: Download the Files
First, download the zip file.
Create a new folder, and extract the files into there. I chose to create a new folder called listchecker and placed it in the Warcraft III directory. At this point, you may want to create a shortcut to this folder on your desktop for easy access.
Part 2: Install WinPcap
If you already have WC3Banlist installed, then you most likely already have WinPcap installed. If so, you can skip Part 2, and move on to Part 3. Otherwise, download and install WinPcap.
Part 3: Configuring the pickup.listchecker.ini file
This is the most difficult part of this tutorial and needs to be completed correctly or else the program will not work. First, open the pickup.listchecker.ini file by double clicking it. You should see the following:

The following is a brief description of each field.
- bnetnetwork: this is the name of the network that you play on, i.e. uswest.battle.net, useast.battle.net, europe.battle.net, or asia.battle.net.
- bnetkey1: insert your Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos CD key here
- bnetkey2: insert your Warcraft III: Frozen Throne CD key here
If you do not have your CD key information readily available, learn how to extract your Warcraft CD keys.
- bnetacc: insert your Battle.net username here
- bnetpass: insert your Battle.net password here (if your password contains any special characters like
Ø, ListChecker may not work properly. You may have to change your password to get ListChecker to work) - war3dir: insert the directory path of Warcraft III here
- hostport: the default value is 6112. this value should not be changed unless you use a different port to host your Battle.net games.
Once you have entered in all the information, save the file.
Part 4: Initializing Listchecker
Double click on the pickup.listchecker.exe file. You should see the following prompt:

Click yes.
Listchecker then goes on to encrypt the CD keys and the battle.net password in the ini file. Just press OK on all three dialog boxes.
If everything was done correctly, you should see the following screen:

Now we are ready to host a game on Battle.net.
Part 5a: Disable all other network cards that are not in use
This step seems to help many people in setting up Listchecker (Special thanks to John Holmes for pointing this out). You can disable your unused network cards by going to "Start" => "Control Panel" => "Network Connections". Right click on the network cards that are inactive, and disable them. Since there is no way to configure which network card Listchecker decides to use, the next best thing to do is to disable all the network cards that are not in use.
Part 5b: For Windows Vista Users
If you use Windows Vista, you must perform these extra steps to run listchecker:
- Right click at pickup.listchecker.exe and choose Properties
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Under Privilege Level, check Run this program as an administrator.
- Click Ok

Part 6: Using ListChecker to host public games
Launch pickup.listchecker.exe.
Launch Warcraft III, and go to Local Area Network.
Create a game with the desired map. You will notice that pkp.listchecker will have joined your game immediately, as shown in the image below.

To host a public game on battle.net, use the following command:
/hostbnetpublic gameName
So for example, if we want to host a public game called dota 6.48b –ap USA LC HOST! we would type in /hostbnetpublic dota 6.48b –ap USA LC HOST!, as shown in the figure below.

Similarly, if you wanted to host a private game, you would omit the public, and it would just be:
/hostbnet dota 6.48b –ap USA LC HOST!
Listchecker will confirm that the game has been created.

If the game was not created successfully, then the information in the pickup.listchecker.ini file is incorrect or the game name you chose has already been used. Go back and check the pickup.listchecker.ini file and make sure all the information is correct, or try another game name.
Two other useful commands are:
/refreshbnet– this refreshes the game within Battle.net/pingclients– this copies the ping information for all current players onto the clipboard. Press control-V to paste the information onto the chat line.

Extra: Listchecker and Hamachi
Listchecker works with Hamachi as well. If you are on a Hamachi network and host a public game on Battle.net using the /hostbnetpublic command, anyone on the Hamachi network can join your game. Thus, if you have other friends who don't have a cd key, you can host a game using Listchecker and then have your friends (who don't have CD keys) join via Hamachi!
To be more specific
- Join desired Hamachi Network.
- Open up pickuplistchecker.exe.
- Open up Warcraft III.
- Go to LAN and host a game. Use the /hostbnetpublic command.
- Players on your Hamachi network can join the game. In addition, players on BNET will be able to join your game as well!
Other Issues, Tips, and Troubleshooting
-
If you are having any problems installing LC, PLEASE do a search within the comments section as the same questions have been answered multiple times!
-
If you are using a wireless connection (which I do not recommend) then you may have to disable all the other Network Interface Cards (NIC) through the device manager since there is no way to configure which NIC Listchecker uses (or no way that I know of).
Thanks to John Holmes for this tip!
-
There have been many reported problems with cracked versions and foreign versions of Warcraft III not working with Listchecker. Unfortunately, there seems to be no solution at this time. Any new information on this issue will be posted here in the future.
-
Windows Vista and wireless adaptors also seem to cause trouble, resulting in Winpcap from functioning properly. Any new information on this issue will be posted here in the future.
-
/refreshbnetis actually not required but recommended. The game actually refreshes itself every 10-15 seconds automatically. So just sit there and it will autorefresh . . . which sometimes makes the other players antsy because they are used to seeing the host close and open slots to “refresh” the game. Just inform the other players that LC automatically refreshes, although this causes some people to leave the game in disbelief. -
If you attempt to use the "custom kick" hack, it will drop all players.

Best listchecker tutorial I have seen. Thanks for the detail tutorial.
Good guide! helped me !
how do we turn off auto refresh?
Unfortunately, I don’t think it is possible to turn off auto refresh. I also do not recommend using custom kick, as it will disconnect everyone.
I can’t get Listchecker to work (XP)
pickup.listchecker.ini:
[pickup]

bnetkey1=bla-bla-bla-bla-bla
bnetkey2=bla-bla-bla-bla-bla
bnetacc=ddt.true
bnetpass=bla
war3dir=C:\Program Files\Warcraft III
hostport=6112
I have WC3Banlist working, I can host normal BNet games.
I have forwarded ports 6112, 6113, 6111.
My WC3 hosting port is as LC set it, 6113.
I get all the right message boxes when I run LC.
The problem is, when I then go and make a LAN game, pkp.listchecker never arrives.
Any ideas?
this has actually happened to me in the past (wherein pkp.listchecker never arrives). I am not sure what the cause of the error is, but what I did was the following:
delete the three files you downloaded and redownload them. this will allow you to start with a fresh INI file that hasn’t been modified. go ahead and install the latest version of WinPcap (even if you have banlist working), and then run through the tutorial again.
Good Luck!
Thanks you.
hey when ever i do /hostbnetpublic DOTA OMFG JOIN QUICK or any other name it pops up on the pickuplistchecker and says my
Couldnt find C:\ProgramFiles\Warcraft III\war3.exe
NEVERMIND i found out thankyou anyway lol this is a GREAT Tutorial thanks
I have list checker installed and believe everything is correct but am not sure how I ago about hosting a game? When I make a game the pickup.lishchecker screen shows me my ping and the GN but nothing joins my games. Where do I type /hostbnetpublic 3v3 apem usa?
Type it in like if you were chatting with someone. Once you type it, your game will show up in battle.net, even though you are still in local area network. Once people start joining, its like any other regular game.
You can type “/hostbnetpublic 3v3 apem usa” inside warcraft III after you created the game, or you can alt-tab out and type it into the pickup.listchecker program itself. Either way works.
If you can’t normally host games on battle net, Listchecker will not work.
If you were previously able to host games on battle net, and Listchecker STILL doesn’t work, here’s what I would do.
Open up Warcraft III, go to “Options”, then go to “Gameplay”. Note what the value of the “Game Port” is. Now, go back into the pickup.listchecker.ini file and replace the “hostport” field with the value you saw in the “Game Port” field.
GOOD LUCK!

when i shut off wc3 it started working forget it. thanks for the guide
whenever i type /hostbnetpublic (whatever) the pickuplistchecker just leaves without saying connected, game create success or whatever, so i wanna know what da hell to do to fix this problem.
i tried a different listchecker and whenever i do /hostbnetpublic DOTA -AP LC!!! or any other name an error pops up on my LC and says
Couldnt find C:\ProgramFiles\Warcraft III\war3.exe
can anyone answer my 2 problems
Kirby, it looks like you don’t have a space in between “ProgramFiles”. Please fix this and see if it works.
Good luck!
the same thing happens like my first problem, the listchecker just leaves the chatroom without saying anything and creates the game, but even though it “creates” the game, it doesnt show that my local area network has created it. and of corse nobody can join
pkp.listchecker shouldn’t leave the game until the first person joins. if you’re not getting the message “Your game has been created with success” then you’re game isn’t showing up on battle net’s game list.
I would suggest erasing all the files and doing a fresh install. also, I just want to remind everyone that if you can’t normally host games on battle net, Listchecker will not work. also, you might want to install the latest version of WinPcap even if you have banlist installed.
i can host, i installed latest winpcap, i did fresh install like 5 times now, i did other pkplistcheckers and the listcheckers leave my game and does not say, your game has been created with success
i just started using listchecker.. so what happens if some people lag and some people dont lag? is it there computer or mine?
Listchecker will significantly reduce pings, but it won’t entirely remove all lag. So most likely, the people who do lag when you host using Listchecker is due to them being too far from you (e.g. from US to Malaysia) or them having bad connection.
Or, if you have torrents open, everyone is going to lag.
uh i made a game but no one joins everything is success why no one joins?
can someone help me out here? do i still need to port forward anything? everything turned out great but it seems like no one would ever join my game….why?
what port do you usually use to host battle net games? whatever port this is (default is 6112), you need to make sure that the INI file you configured has the same value for the “hostport” field.
here’s what I would try:
If you can host regular battle net games still, open up warcraft, go to options, go to gameplay, then look at what the game port is. whatever value you see in game port, replace it into the INI file where it says hostport.
after this, try hosting again with listchecker and it should work.
Hey guys, i just installed WinPcap 4.1 and the pickup list checker and have already set the required information, but when i double click Pickuplistchecker.exe, it says
“Error : couldnt open winpcap device”. Im running on Windows Vista. What could be the problem ?
Great tutorial! Thanks.:)
I believe LC is fantastic. I have one query. How the hell does that /refreshbnet work? How am I suppose to know its actually working? Am I suppose to type it several times or what?
Ok. I’ve figured out how that refresh works. But in all seriousness. That refresh is shit. But apart from that. Lagless games are the best games.
/refreshbnet is actually not required. The game actually refreshes itself every 10-15 seconds automatically, as I have recently come to realize. So just sit there and it will autorefresh . . . which sometimes makes the other players antsy because they are used to seeing the host close and open slots to “refresh” the game. Just inform them that LC automatically refreshes, although this causes some people to leave in disbelief.
Since I don’t run vista, I don’t have much experience troubleshooting on that platform. If anyone runs vista, and has gotten Listchecker to work, can they share their experience? I’ll look into it and report back if I find anything in the meanwhile.
The refresh is not very good at all. I do notice that it refreshes, but is it really even refreshing. I can possibly wait for ages before people join my game. Is there a way to use Banlist refresh with LC or another refresh application, or a way to make the refresh work more efficient? When I am on Bnet, the autorefresh from BL works wonders. Most of the games I host are based on the same name.
Quan Quach, i figured out the reason pkp.listchecker would never join. I recommend you include this in your main post.
I use wireless [bad for gaming, I know], which uses a different NIC than plugging in an ethernet cable.
Listchecker was using the wrong NIC.
Omfg.
As I was unable to find any way to tell listchecker which NIC to use, I got rid of the non-wireless one by disabling it in the device manager.
Thanks for the tip! I’m sure other people will appreciate it!
I have the same problem as cholofille,
i downloaded wincap 4.0.1 and it says
Error : couldnt open winpcap device
can anyone assist
sounds like a great program
I don’t know what the compatibility issues are with winpcap, but I will look into it and post here if I find a solution!
I dont really got what john holmes said im from sweden and my english isnt the best :/ anyway the pkp.listchecker never shows up :O and i got all right i know that it just wont show up
Molpan, John was saying that:
If you are using a wireless connection to host your game, then you need to disable all of your other network cards. What this means:
(assuming you use windows XP as your operating system) Go to control panel -> network connections. Now disable any network cards that you are not using.
john holmes I LOVE YOU! I used 3 hours trying to get plc to work! Thanks so much!
wtf… i open my BNCStutil thing… then it says. error couldnt open wincap device..
then.. i open my pickuplistchecker,,, it says this application has failed to start becouse BNCSutil.dll was not found.. how can i fix this.. pls help..
why when i open my Pickuplistchecker i says,, error:couldnt open file…..
but i already have that.. BNCSutil.dll.. file.. pls help
Hello, Thank you very much for the helpful guide. I am unable to get it to function correctly. I have read many reviews and guides but when I create the lan game the bot does not join and i am unable to host the game. I have wincap installed and a working version of wc3banlist beta. I have tryed changing ports to host with, never having the same port as the program. I was wondering if it might have to do with my mother board having ethernet ports? Also I have port forwarded my router to I can host on bnet.
I was wondering if it might have anything to do with my mother board having 2 ethernet ports? Also I have portforwarded my router so I am able to make
ekim051084:
having two ethernet ports may be a problem. you should disable the ethernet port that you are not using. as someone mentioned in an earlier comment, he wasn’t able to get Listchecker working until he disabled all the other Network Cards on his computer.
Thus, I suggest you try disabling all of your other network cards. Restart the computer, and then reinstall listchecker. Sorry that I can’t be more helpful than that.
Zero:
I’m not sure what your problem is as I have never encountered it personally. In fact, I never expected there to be so many problems!! Anyhow, you aren’t supposed to open the BNCSutil.dll file. You might have done something to the BNCSutil.dll file, so I would suggest a re-download to make sure the file is not damaged or anything.
In addition, it never hurts to uninstall and reinstall winpcap. It seems like that is where your error is. I would suggest reinstalling winpcap, and using the stable version, 4.01. After that, reinstall listchecker and see how that goes for you. Once again, sorry I cannot be more helpful.
If anyone knows how to troubleshoot these problems, it would be greatly appreciated if you could post a solution!
Hello
I had the same problem as John Holmes. I just have vmware server installed on my computer… I disabled the 2 vmware NIC and now it works for me too

any guide for hamachi?
A guide on Hamachi to host games? Or a guide on using Hamachi with Listchecker? Right now, no to both. If it is requested, I can create a tutorial.

if you guys have a problem getting Listchecker to work, leaving a valid email when you comment is helpful so that I can contact you!
Well i downloaded… entered all fields as you said… Installed latest Winpcap (4.0.1).
When i try to load it (via admin rights, i am on Vista Home Premium), it says “cannot open Winpcap device”.
I reinstalled winpcap. Same.
I am playing on Wireless (my dad has a wireless router in his room next to mine, i connect to it via wireless adaptor), so i tried disabling my network card as said here. Still same problem.
Any advice?
It seems that some wireless cards are not supported, so your best bet might be to use your lan ethernet port.
I tried to. I Turned off the WI-FI router, and plugged the normal adsl modem into my ethernet. Same, nothing changed :/

I do not know about this tool that you speak of. Maybe someone else does? Please share if you do!
Hey! Excellent guide, but I’m experiencing a problem… When I’ve typed /hostbnetpublic ‘game name’, pickup.listchecker.exe tells me that ‘Couldn’t find’, and then the directory path I typed. Am I doing something wrong, or could you tell me exactly where to get the right directory path?
Morten:
I think you configured the pickup.listchecker.ini file incorrectly.
Go back and make sure your “war3dir” field in the INI file is correct, and this should solve your problems.
Remember to close both pickup.listchecker and warcraft III before you open them again, so that the changes can take effect.
Thanks for the quick answer.
I mean, how should it not be correct? The directory path would be, for me: “C:\Programmer\Warcraft III”, Program files is spelled “Programmer” for me because I’m danish, I don’t know if that’s the problem, but if I rename it to “Program files” that would be an incorrect directory path… Don’t know if you follow me.
Morten:
I was able to recreate your same error when I put in an incorrect directory path for the “war3dir” field.
The correct directory is where your “Warcraft III.exe” file and “Frozen Throne.exe” files are located. I’m not sure if there are incompatible errors because of your danish version.
Yes! I made it work, it’s awesome and works a 100%. Thank you so much Quan Quach
Congratulations!! Lag free games are for the good of all Warcraft / DoTA palyers! We need more LC hosts!
Indeed mayn, but I’ve heard there’s a problem with LC hosting. Like in 50% of the games, a player will drop because of LC. I don’t know if it’s true, but what do you say to that?
Personally, I have never had a problem with people disconnecting from LC. But I have heard some less than pleasant things about it. Works well for some people, and doesn’t work well for others. I don’t know what the problem is per se, but works well for me. I’ve hosted over 500 games (rough estimate). I can honestly say the number of drops when I hosted using regular method over BNET and using Listchecker is not noticeable.
I get the “Failed to hash WAR3 key” what happend ??
Hey, ive been having some problems while hosting.. The main problem is that its VERY difficult to get people to join, but people do join, mostly french and Rus eventhough title says Swe only^^:. anyway, do you know if there could be any possible solution to that problem? I have a hard time figureing it out, since people CAN join, but dont. I didnt have the same problem while hosting via B-net
Hi nQb,
I think you may have inserted the cd keys incorrectly. My only suggestion is to reconfigure the INI file. Also, remember that hacked and cracked versions of wacraft is incompatible with Listchecker. Also, foreign versions of warcraft don’t seem to work with listchecker either. Hope this helps
Hi Sdrr,
I’m in the US, and I don’t really have any problems with people joining my games that are hosted by Listchecker. i’m not sure what can be done to be honest . . . sorry! Maybe someone else who reads the comments section can offer some insight.
I did everything according to the tutorial. When I host a game, listchecker joins it but when I type “/hostbnetpublic anygamename” it doesn’t say anything. a little screen pops up next to listchecker that says

bnetpass=e:FF2ECEA7842099
wtf? That is not even close to my password ._.
Should I change the europe.battlenet.com thing to useast?
I don’t play on the euro server…
Cicatriz:
Yes, change it to
useast.battle.netAlso, your password is encrypted by listchecker after you save the INI file. So leave that as it is.
where are u suposed to write hostbnetpublic??? when u have hosted or before or???
EamonValda:
Once you create the game in LAN, you type in “/hostbnetpublic gameName”. Please review part 6 of this tutorial for more information.
When I type /hostbnetpublic all it does is connect… and nothing happens and i did everything correctly….
Connecting to useast.battle.net on port 6112

Eamon,
make sure you’re on the correct server (useast.battle.net, uswest.battle.net, etc). In addition, try reconfiguring your .INI file again because you might have mistyped your password the first time through.
can it be becasue when it encrypts my password it doesnt get it right?? i have the letter Ø in it
Eamon,
Yes, I think there is a strong possibility that may be it. I would suggest creating a new user name/password on battle.net that uses normal characters, and testing to see if this new username works.
Ok I didnt have 2 running and now it says auth logonproof reply: code=2 - Incorrect password - Additional info:
Waftttt and Eamon,
Both of you seem to be having the same problem. Try to create a new account on battle.net using a simple username and simple password. Remember to change your .ini files to reflect the new username/password, and tell me how this goes.
Quan
OHHH YEAH thx so much
Sending auth logonproof is all it says now and i made a new name and restarted my comp…
sorry to be a pest… but i got it to work but no one joins… =\
Ok, here are results:
(vista home premium)
1) Settings -> Run as admin + Right-click -> run as admin
“Couldnt find Winpcap device”
2) UAC off -> run as admin
“Couldnt find Winpcap device”
3) I am running on Wi-Fi. Turned off all other NIC’s in control panel
“Couldnt find Winpcap device”
4) Turned off Wi-Fi NIC and used normal ethernet modem
“Couldnt find Winpcap device”
5) Used all the previous things at same time (run as admin, uac off, on ethernet modem with all other NIC’s turned off)
“Couldnt find Winpcap device”
I guess its just PUG for me then :/
Ok got it to work thanks man
Pro Guide. For the people above who can’t get the bot to join, try disabling all other network cards and create a new folder and put the listchecker files in there (instead of having it in the directory of the war3).
This is definitely one of the best and most comprehensive guides out there on LC.
Thank you Quan! I <3 you.
ALRIGHT I have tottaly found out WHY the password hasnt been working, but i have found out is that people usually place the wc3 cdkey in first and let it encrypt, after that they try to put in the account and pw later, That means your pw is not encrypted!!!! Thats why it tells you your PW is messed up!!! ^_^ I HOPE THIS HELPS =D
SO REmember reinstall pkp ini and put everything you need BEFORE you exit the ini file
Viper i got the same problem…. i got vista ultimate. Kinda shitty…. and my wc3banlist isint working too.
lc doesnt work properly for me. sometimes when i go in the create game part, the bot join and left and join and left. It’s really annoying.
game is successfully created… but noones joining
nm i fixed it, i switch the ports to 6113 and 6114. now the bot doesnt join and leave all the time.
You have to start the pkp first before wc3 and, itll only leave if someone joins your game like /hostbnet = Private /bnetpublic = public game
You need to write your acc and pass and all that things in both ini.files and notesblock.
I dl’ed my ini.files from http://bonta.kun.free.fr/listchecker/ It works for me now. ^^
I am having this problem “Error : couldnt open winpcap device”.
when I get and installed pkp listchecker and wincap in the other PC I get this error, but my previouc PC was alrite, I do not unerstand plz give solution
Hi guys, I’ve read somewhere that apparently a few people have gotten this to work with pvpgn servers. Anyone have any suggestions or tips, although I think I read somewhere this is being worked on with the actual program. thx
umm i still get a high ping(althogh friends tell me hosting is better) like i get 200+ pings on ppl when i use /pingclients sometimes over 1k i know this isnt real case, nothing else is running except for my clan bot
i did everything u said, but Lc don`t join the game..
why is that?
fellville0001@yahoo.com
everything seems fine, my warcraft 3 port option>gameplay is 6113 but when i try change the port on lc to 6113 it doesnt let me so i stick with 6112. when i type /hostbnetpublic dota -ap etc. listchecker doesnt confirm my game. and when i alt tab theres a little window which says acount doesnt exist. PLZ HELP
u dont want both plc and w3 on same port otherwise it wont work i have w3 on 6112 and plc on 6113 and its fine, also make sure those 2 ports are open on your firwalls and router

Is your warcraft III version a foreign version? It has been stated by some people that this causes problems for listchecker.
Liger:
Thundermonkey is correct. Its best to open up two ports for wacraft if you use listchecker. This way you can host via the normal method and the LC method without changing your ports.

We need some more details on what is not working. If the BoT is not joining your game then I can only assume that you did not set it up correctly.
QQ plz help me with the “Error : couldnt open winpcap device”. problem

The winpcap device error seems to happen a lot in Window Vista Systems. I’m not sure how to resolve this, sorry.
vista is crap idk y ppl are getting it
I have already put everything in ini file, but when i host bnet game, the screenshot didnt display the bnet key….i dun know y got this problem could anyone help me?
I got solve this problem but new one coming… when i host game screen just show me:
Connecting to U.S West.battle.net on port 6112
That’s it… Any idea about that?
Did you portforward 6112 to your Router or Firewall? So it can bypass it, with no interruption? That can by the problem because it might have not gotten through maybe same thing for WC3 Bnet ports
Great site, tutorial, the only problem is that i wont be able to spam my gamename/talk with friends on the channel
hello tt =]
Yea, i already port forward 6112 to my router and close my firewall. It still that..
but I got XP !!! now my previous PC is having the same problem after the playing for so long

I maybe found a solution for the “Error: couldnt open winpcap device”.
The files ( 3 ) needs to be in the folder :\Program Files\Warcraft III
I think Pkp reach Winpcap trought “../WinpCap/rpcapd”
Hope this will resolve u’re problems ^^
cecef@hotmail.com
There’s no doubt : that’s the solution
PlayHard.GoPro and where can i find folder “../WinpCap/rpcapd” ?
Your game has been created with success… but it doesnt work.. no one is joinning the game.. whats going on??
Tommy: make sure that the port that you designated in the listchecker.ini file is the correct one. Thats all that I can think of.
BlackSnow
Just install Winpcap in default folder ( Program Files\Winpcap ) and put all Pickup.listchecker files in \Program Files\WarcraftIII then launch pkp
U should got no error
( Sorry for my bad English
)
Tommy : Open slot 6113 ( Firewall => create new rule for FT executable )
[...] to reduce delay and latency is DotA Client. DotA Client claims to reduce latency even further than ListChecker and GGC, so of course I looked into it. The thing that surprised me the most was that it was VERY [...]
If anyone couldn’t get LC to work, you should try DotA Client instead.
well i am totaly confuse i just wanted an auto but my friends told me to get this and i would like u to help me and guyd me throught the entire thing or tell me how to get my auto refresher working
Yo, i have a problem everytime i create a game [i can host] - my friend says that the game requires a password? whys this..i typed
/hostbnetpublic dota 6.49b -ap us/can pros lc!!
Hm, RogueAlchemist, I have never heard of such a problem, so not sure what the solution is. Can others join your game?
I’m having the same problem as Rogue Alchemist, except I’m on the other end. I cannot join my friend’s games when he runs listchecker. I’ve tried all the firewall and port solutions I can think of.
Since you guys can’t get LC to work, you should try Dota Client. It works just as good and is much easier to install!
Thank u for the guide it was really helpful
Umm… when i host it host the game in reign of chaos >.<
good site and i had it work.
but the problem is that, the LC is only for hosting on LAN but not on Bnet. That means i cant login into the bnet and check friends or join other people’s game.
Also, after i hosting a game and finish it/quit it, and try to login back to the bnet, it says:”the CD key provided is currently in use by plc (0) W3 ROC”.
Any ideas to solve these problems?
Will,
Unfortuantely, you cannot log into bnet while hosting a game using listchecker and using /hostbnetpublic
After you’re done hosting the game, you should be able to log back onto bnet immediately if you close the listchecker program. It works for me at least. So after you’re done with your LC game, close the LC program, and relog to bnet, it should work.
im having a problem i put in my cdkey and everything i did it all right but when i type in /hostbnetpublic dota apem usa/ca pro then i go look a the pick up list and it says invalid configuration in INI file and at the cd key part it has a lot of weird letters and stuff what do i do plz help
my email is jumbojake12@yahoo.ca plz send me something to help
Once you put the information into the INI file, listchecker encypts the CD KEYs and the bnet password. So later, when you reopen the INI file, it will not look like it did previously. So my suggestion is to start with a fresh INI file and re-input all the information again. Good luck
And guys, if LC doesn’t work, give DotA Client a try. It’s much easier to install and latency is just as good or even better than LC.
Error : couldnt open winpcap device - shit!
i reinstall my windows! (now it WinXP x64 proffesional)
still problem here(((
SuperCoww.
I figured hwo to make banlist work with listchecker.
if you read the commands on http://bonta.kun.free.fr/listchecker/
you will se that there is a command /openbnet.
write it in, and after you type in /bnetcmd /
If you want Blist to work with Listchecker type this.
1. /openbnet
2. /bnetcmd /fromall
I also made another discover.
A friend of mine always disconnects from wc3 and drops from the game
but he doesent know why it happens. I dont know if this problem is usual.
But anyway. When i hosted with LC my friend doesent drop from Bnet anymore,
so i start to wonder if this program may help people to not get disconnected without
any reason. =)
Thx for me
Thanks for the added information groensak!
Hey everytime i try to use LC, it attempts to connect me to europe.battle.net and i play on US east how can i change it?
What do I have to do to allow people to join? Listchecker looks like its working and says the game has been created but no one joins. I can’t even host normally on BNet. So what do I have to do to host games?
Kabraxis:
See Part 3 of this tutorial. Basically, change europe.battle.net to useast.battle.net
On your INI config file there is a field for:
bnetnetwork: this is the name of the network that you play on, i.e. uswest.battle.net, useast.battle.net, europe.battle.net, or asia.battle.net.
Change accordingly.
Frogslayer,
you need to forward your port on your router to get this to work. I’m sure you can find a guide somewhere on the net. Or maybe someone can point him in the right direction?
[...] Listchecker. Se desea que el juego sea por Battle.net usando Listchecker. Si dicen GGC/LC es que da igual por [...]
ok…i juss used it today works fine but how do i log onto bnet and be able to go to channel room while LC running…when i log in it say LC using my account
Jc,
Sorry, you have to turn off listchecker if you want to sign on regularly to bnet.
Ok got it 2 connect, now my problem is the game wont fill all the way up, um it wil fill to 9 but thats it, it wont fillthe last slot any suggestions?
I have the Failed to Hash War3 CD error, what do i do?
Julian,
I would suggest making sure that you entered in your cd keys correctly. I think that error comes up when you mistype your cd keys. Give that a try please.
This is a great tutorial and ive looked through the entire page trying to find someone with a problem related to mine. Everything works just fine except if i try to ping refresh or change the gamename with players in the game it auto boots them all and starts from scratch it would seem. THis is very annoying i cant ping anyone and sometimes i like to change the game name to attract more players but it doesnt seem to be working for me no matter what i try ive reinstalled numerous times ive tried changing my host ports ive tried EVERYTHING I CAN THINK OF but cant get this to work no matter what i do im hoping someone has encountered this problem and knows a way to fix it.
Michael,
this is a very serious problem that I have never encountered. I will email you personally to try to fix this. if we find a solution, we will post it here.
Hey. I don’t know but in the lan alot I get alot of complaints of lag… However I am never downloading anything when i play dota and i tab out to see that my comp usage is still low because i have 4 gigs of ram… So I don’t think its me… If someone in the game lags would it affect everyone or just that person?
Well if some1 have error: unable to find device winpcap or something like that:
1. check if u have admin rights
2. set on properties run as admin
3. if u r admin and still got that error, try to open wincpap manually. for example open wc3 banlist and then lc.
hf
@Christopher check ur i-net usage and try to install cfossped that should help a bit
the can’t load wincap device error most of u people are encountering is because you are using a broadband connection with a usename and pass to connect through the internet
this kind of connection creates a virtual connection through the pc’s wan miniport, just as in john’s case
in his case disabling the second conection, the network card worked because he actually connected wireless to the int, we connect using the fiber optics cable, thus if we disable the network card the virtual connection also stops
you could try disabling your netw card and launch listchecker, you will see there is no more error, to see that I am right, but this doesn’t solve the problem
i’ve tried everything to get listchecker to use the virtual connection but the error still occurs, but maybe now that you know what’s causing it you guys might be able to think of something I didn’t
Ok, on my LC it wont auto-kick the lictchecker thing, but when my friend hosts it does, any suggestions? It wont fill the game up to a 5v5 it only does 5v4 then it’ll say game full.
everytime i save cdkey and account settings, when i restart it becomes exactly like this:
bnetkey1=e:70919E6F6965741F0D002AC604645417736C6773EE10F673431E
bnetkey2=e:168BFA1A6D6E007257A28E3190CF42FAD987E2E5791E56C6A143
bnetacc=Nf.aLeoX
bnetpass=e:25B5CF364F5C2A776B389AE444050A
I really don’t get it.
/pingclients – this copies the ping information for all current players onto the clipboard. Press control-X to paste the information onto the chat line.
you might want to change “control-X” to control V because V works X doesn’t
it was a bit confusing the first time so a change would be helpful
aLeoX,
Listchecker is simply encrypting the sensitive information so that other people won’t be able to see what your cdkeys and password for Bnet. So in summary, that is what is supposed to happen!
6feetunder:
thanks for pointing that out. I changed it accordingly
Yes,but…listchecker says that account informations are wrong…
How do i get Banlist to work with LC. I type /checkall and nothing happens
Thanks
Im not sure if BL works with LC some people said it works some say it doesnt, Just type /pingclients and that would work also but people still want to ban people but im not sure about that part

Either you entered in the information wrong into the INI file, or you might have a foreign version of Warcraft III. I don’t know the exact details, but I think some other people have been having issues like this.

Another way to use LC to host is to send an invitation to them via /sendlan :
taken from http://bonta.kun.free.fr/listchecker/
/sendlan : will show the game you host to the lan screen of the destination ip
(destination will need to have his port 6112 open and will need to go to the lan screen before host uses this command),
useful if the other guy cant connect to battle.net, and it doesnt need him to run this app on his computer at all
hey i did everything in this guide and when i opened listcheck it said encrypting cd keys and it was encrypted then it said im missing file NPP. Tools or something like that, i’ve done this tutorial many times and i still get the same thing, im using vista btw
hey i fixed that problem by downloading the file seperately, but i have another problem. when i try to run list checker, it says error : cannot open winpcap device, i’ve uninstalled winpcap and installed it again and it still gives me the same error, and yes i am running list checker as admin
hi guys
i got one qestion, and i ill be happy if somebody can help me.

Hi…I have a problem–
